I'M suzie barden

Several years ago I was sitting around the table, painting with my 4 children and my new obsession began! I had not painted since I was a child and had forgotten how life giving art can be.

Fast forward to August 2017 and our home flooded in Hurricane Harvey. My world was flipped up side down as we had to rebuild. During my down time, I found myself zoning out to videos of artists pouring their paints. As soon as I had my art space available again, I got to work figuring out fluid art. It quickly became an obsession and I haven't looked back since!

I am honored to announce that in July 2020, three of my custom paintings will be seen hanging on the walls of Washington and Lesley Ho's home during the filming of their HBO Max reality show, "House of Ho."

Inspiration

I draw inspiration from the natural earth around me. Many of my abstract pieces are my view of colors flowing through the wind. I especially love agates / geodes. They look like ugly rocks but when you break them open they are full of sparkles and unseen beauty!

Techniques

I am a Custom Resin Artist. This means I mix my pigments and paints directly into the epoxy resin. I then pour my tinted resin onto my boards. When it cures, the resin creates a glass like finish.
